A furniture company, entrepreneur group, and a large electronics cases company buy domain names.
Before jumping into this week’s Afternic/GoDaddy end user sales report, I’d like to call attention to two very timely domain name sales: DebtCeiling.com for $2,249 and DebtCeiling.net for $1,500. I don’t know who bought them (they have privacy on), but this may have been a smart buy. Even once this round of debt ceiling talks concludes, it won’t be long before the next one starts.
Here are some of the end user sales at Afternic and GoDaddy last week. The format is domain – price – buyer:
WebsiteAnalysis.co.uk – $5,000 – Internet marketing company Webimax.
GN.vc – $2,500 – Telecom company GlocalNumber bought its acronym in .vc
iSofas.co.uk – $3,000 – Sofas Direct UK.
Targus.net – $1,888 – Electronics case and computer bag company Targus.
YEC.co – $7,500 – The Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) upgraded from TheYEC.org. That’s a pretty hefty price for a three letter .co domain.
RentalPropertyListings.com – $2,588 – 417.com, Inc, a Missouri real estate company. 417 is an area code in Missouri.
ABCVac.com – $2,000 – ABC Window Cleaning Supply, Inc. in Littleton, Colorado.
RedneckChannel.com – $4,500 – Worldwide Multimedia Broadcast Network.
Buy-And-Save.com – $1,500 – Buy Low Foods, Ltd in British Columbia.
Tetramer.com – $1,000 – Tetramer Technologies, a high tech company in South Carolina.
StudentLoanRepay.com – $2,500 – Edfinancial Services, LLC. in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Nowport.com – $1,000 – SmokeAlpha.com, an e-cigarette store. I suspect the name is similar to cigarette brand Newport.
SimplyGuard.com – $1,595 – Simply Computing in Vancouver.
SmartEnergy.net – $7,000 – Smartenergy Renewables AG, a renewable energy company. It uses SmartEnergyAG.com for its web address.
DentalFinance.com – $3,750 – Half Dental, a discount dental program.
NorthwestLiving.com – $1,900 – A Seattle Prudential real estate office.
EmergentCoaching.co – $1,000 – Emergent Education, a business coaching company. It already owns the domain EmergentCoaching.com.
LeadProgram.com – $2,100 – Southwestern, a student internship program involving door-to-door selling.
Pelicon.com – $1,500 – Branding and web design firm Pelicon Design. It currently uses PeliconDesign.com.
HomeTelemedicine.com – $1,250 – Nightingale Home Healthcare in Carmel, Indiana.
BWI-Airport.com – $1,150 – Baltimore Washington International Airport. They already own the non-hyphenated BWIaiport.com.
ArtisanWeddings.com – $1,150 – Artisan Weddings, Inc in Florida.
IQSG.com – $3,000 – Consulting firm IQ Solutions Group. Their current web address IQSolutionsGroup.com is much longer.
“YEC.co – $7,500 – The Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC)”
Yes, a very rare example of a surprisingly high sale price for a .co and a great deal deal for the seller. Buyer must have only cared about the exact match acronym and likely uneducated about name values and .co’s in particular.
NOWPORT.COM buyer should probably find a nice fallout bunker to hide in.
IQSG.COM got off kinda’ cheap.
Andrew, this format is good. I am (and probably most of your readers are) used to skimming lists of domains and prices in that layout.
Thanks Russ.
