A job site, bus service and light switch maker bought domain names.
At least 17 companies bought domain names through Sedo over the past week. As usual, many of the purchases are for domains that match the buyer’s second level domain in another extension.
The top reported sale was Flix.it, purchased by a European bus service. .IT is the country code for Italy. Other purchases include a company buying a four letter domain to shorten its domain, a company that was able to drop a hyphen from its domain, and a water tank maker that bought the exact match domain to forward to its website.
Here’s the list of end user sales I uncovered:
(You can view previous lists like this here.)
Flix.it $22,000 – FlixBus GmbH, a European bus service.
MoneyMaster.com $11,000 – PropertyInvesting.com Pty Ltd, an Australian service catering to 140,000+ property investors.
BSTN.com $8,376 – BSTN Store GmbH, a shoe seller, shortened its domain from BSTNStore.com.
HireHero.com $4,699 – The domain forwards to HigherMe.com, a job finding service. I hope they change their company name because HigherMe is an example of a company name that fails the radio test miserably. The site is about “hire”, not “higher”, so that must have confused lots of people. Yeah, I get the double entendre, but that’s not going to cut it. Especially when HireMe.com is another job site.
AgencyHQ.com $4,000 – Enfusen, which provides sales and marketing automation software.
EyeNet.com $3,500 – Mexican IT company EyeNet bought the .com to go with its EyeNet.com.mx domain name.
LionheartEducation.com £2,857 – Educational consultancy and tutoring service Lionheart Education can now drop the hyphen in its domain Lionheart-Education.com.
HaloHomes.com $2,802 – Halo Homes, LLC in Tennessee.
BrandSociety.com €2,750 – Brand Society is a Melbourne packaging design business that uses the domain name brandsociety.com.au.
Bitzilla.de €2,678 – Bitzilla is an online marketing agency.
BrightSwitch.com $2,500 – Bellatrix Systems, Inc. sells a touch screen light switch called Brightswitch.
ManoAMano.net $2,500 – Mano a Mano is a classified ads service in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Dont4get.com $2,450 – The maker of the Don’t 4 Get app. Folks, cute word replacements like this don’t work in either domain names or apps. People have to know how to search for it, even if it’s an app store search!
QuoteAndSave.com $2,346 – A digital marketing consultant in the UK named Craig Johnson.
WaterTanks.co.za $2,100 – Aquadam is a South African maker of water tanks.
PremierFinance.com £2,000 – eBizAutos, an automotive marketing company.
Wardrobe.nyc $2,000 – A web developer bought this domain for a company called Wardrobe LLC.

PremierFinance.com sold for a pittance!

HireHero.com is a fantastic brand and about a 1000x better than HigherMe.com (someone certainly was High while coming up with that).
