DONE! Ventures Reaches Settlement with NBC and Sedo Over Women.com

Settlement reached over failed seven figure domain name sale.

DONE! Ventures has reached a tentative settlement in a lawsuit it brought against NBC Universal and Sedo.

The lawsuit was over a failed purchase for Women.com and Women.net. DONE! says that NBC accepted its offer of $1 million for the two domain names. But then-NBC Universal Chairman and CEO Jeff Zucker allegedly quashed the deal.

DONE! originally sued just NBC Universal to get it to go through with the deal, but later added Sedo to the suit for failing to enforce the purchase.

The suit was filed in California but recently Sedo won a transfer of the case to Massachusetts based on a “forum selection” clause in Sedo’s terms of service.

Depositions in the case were to begin this week.

No word yet on what the settlement is and if it will result in transferring the domain name to DONE!

$1million is very good price for the buyer, this name worth alot more.

While we’ll know shortly whether the settlement includes the transfer of the domains; due to an NDA, we’ll never know if–or how much–money changed hands if transferred.

The $1 mill may or may not be the amount. Could be more, could be less.
