AdSense can’t be placed on auto-generated sites with copied content.
The latest “AdSense Facts & Fiction” from the Google AdSense Blog addresses an issue that may affect domainers-turned-mass web site developers:
Fiction: Publishers can put ads on auto-generated pages or other copied content that was not created by them.
Fact: We don’t allow sites with auto-generated or otherwise unoriginal content to participate in the AdSense program. This is to ensure that our users are benefiting from a unique online experience and that our advertisers are partnering with useful and relevant sites.
As you read the rest of the post it’s not clear if this applies to sites that republish syndicated content. The post continues:
Sometimes we come across sites that are using software to generate automated content. These sites might look like normal news sites, but the information is completely plagiarized. Scraping content and passing it off as one’s own is not only wrong, but it also happens to be a serious violation of our policies
There’s a good amount of content that can be copied and republished per the author’s guidelines. So it seems that this directive if mostly pointed to splogs, such as the many “blogs” that copy content from Domain Name Wire and republish it in its entirety.

And what about the plethora of LYING advertisements that Google accepts money for? You know these ads:
– the ‘single mom’, IN YOUR HOMETOWN no less, who ‘discovered’ a trick. Lets see, it could be natural teeth whitening, flat belly, work at home program…
Come on. When Google stops the BS and stops its ‘doing no evil’ dance, then people will take them more seriously when they come out with absurd statements like this.
The lying advertisements really degrade the experience.

Realistically I would imagine that more than half of the sites out there with adsesne are with less than original content
If they actually truly enforced this without bias I rethink they would blow out half of all adsense.
Stuff like this is just to give them “reasonable cause” to do what they like. Just like when a cop thinks he hears a baby crying inside.

Hello Andrew,
“Fact: We don’t allow sites with auto-generated or otherwise unoriginal content to participate in the AdSense program. This is to ensure that our users are benefiting from a unique online experience and that our advertisers are partnering with useful and relevant sites.”
Fact: We are scared —-less of direct search and know it could very well be our undoing!
We believe that direct search names are gaining traction and the old Garde are running scared.Google built their empire on the power of words and now want to change the natural evolution of communication. Good Luck Google!

Hahaha, that’s funny. Google itself is the ultimate “scraper” of web content.
Years ago, I saw this coming. It’s one reason I don’t bother with AdSense.

One of these days the Big Daddy Google will regret the way they have treated their publishers.

It’s amazing they have this policy since they are certainly one of the biggest offenders with http://fastflip.googlelabs.com/
Not only are they stealing content, they take a screenshot of the original site so you can read most of the article without ever leaving google. Consequently the publisher never gets the traffic or ad impressions.
Then to make things worse, they crop out the original site’s ads and monetize the content with their own google ads on the side.
Apparently when google does it, it’s not wrong or bad for advertisers and certainly not a violation of their policy!

You saw how quickly Google rose to where it is? It can and will fall just as fast AND someone else will take its place.
Honestly? I think Apple, Yahoo and Microsoft should merge into a massive mega corp and take Google down into pieces.
