Pay me at the same interval every time, and I’ll be happy.
I hear a lot of complaints about payouts from Afternic. Most of these complaints are about payments taking too long.
I’m not really concerned with how long it takes to receive payments (within reason). I don’t count on the cash flow from domains to make ends meet; a 7-10-day delay doesn’t cause any problems.
What does bother me is the inconsistency of payments.
Some payments occur shortly after the domain is transferred. Others take much longer.
I believe this has something to do with where the transaction was initiated and if the domain was a Fast Transfer or manual transfer.
Last month, I had a sale that hadn’t been paid out 14 days after the transfer was completed, and I had to contact Afternic support to remind them to send the payment.
That’s frustrating, and it made me realize that although I don’t care much about how long it takes, I wish payments were consistent.
Rather than getting some payments the next day and others in a week, I’d just like to know when the payments will be made and have them executed on time, every time. Consistency matters more to me than quickness.
While I’m talking about Afternic payments, I’d like to gently remind Afternic about two other issues with payments. I know these are on someone’s “to-do” list at Godaddy:
- Include information about what domain(s) the payments are for with the PayPal payment.
- Send the “Your Funds are on the way” email before sending the payment, now hours after the payment has been sent. (This will somewhat alleviate the first point because this email tells you what domain it’s for.)

Agreed 100% with everything!

Those are some good points to be noted and must be fixed/implemented by Afternic.
Currently even for the Fast Transfer sales, there is no fix timeline of disbursing funds. Sometimes the transaction will be marked completed within 24 hours and sometimes you’ve to remind the TA (transfer agent) multiple times and then they’ll mark the transaction completed. This has been an ongoing issue for like 2020 since I’ve started using them. At least they’re consistent in this

It seems like the need some sort of “cron job” that someone checks every day…payment hasn’t been issued after 7 days, so person should look into it.

Yeah, right.
