Page and history on chart thanks to one man’s curious domain name registrations.
Verisign released its list of top trending keywords for September today, led by “page” in the number one spot.
Registrations of domain names with the term page in them spiked on September 26. A Connecticut man registered a bunch of long domain names that mostly contain a famous person or brand’s name in the format theNAMEpage.com and theNAMEhistorypage.com. Examples include:
TheIntelCorporationPage.com
TheNetflixHistoryPage.com
TheTripAdvisorIncPage.com
TheConradHugesHiltonPage.com
These domains also helped history land at #3 on the chart.
Driver landed on both the .com and .net charts thanks to a bunch of driverless car domain names.
Here’s the full .com list:
1. Page
2. Driver
3. History
4. Pair
5. Harley
6. Holding
7. Tshirt
8. Payday
9. Cheese
10. Funnel
Yes. That was me with a ton of driverless names.
Same with autonomous and self driving.

That’s one of the challenges of self-driving domain names. Is it driverless, selfdriving, self-driving, autonomous, or simply “cars”?

“Driverless cars” are about the same as “horseless carriages”. There’s a reason to make a distinction when you have both on the road. No one is surprised to see a conveyance which is not pulled by a horse anymore, so we don’t call them that.
