Race hasn’t been called, but Jones leads with all precincts reporting.
[Update: Despite leading by 876 votes with all precincts reporting, Jones now finds herself down by 9 votes after mail-in and absentee ballots. There will be a recount.
Update: After the recount, Christine Jones has lost the race.]
It looks like former GoDaddy chief counsel and EVP Christine Jones is headed to Washington.
Jones narrowly defeated Andy Biggs in the Republican primary for U.S. Representative District 5 in Arizona yesterday.
Jones took 30% of the vote in the four-way race; Biggs had 29%.
AZCentral.com has not declared Jones the winner, but Jones leads by 876 votes with 100% of precincts reporting. I’m not sure if mail-in and absentee ballots have been counted.
District 5 is a reliably Republican district, so Jones should handily beat Democratic nominee Talia Fuentes in November.
