Race hasn’t been called, but Jones leads with all precincts reporting.
[Update: Despite leading by 876 votes with all precincts reporting, Jones now finds herself down by 9 votes after mail-in and absentee ballots. There will be a recount.
Update: After the recount, Christine Jones has lost the race.]
It looks like former GoDaddy chief counsel and EVP Christine Jones is headed to Washington.
Jones narrowly defeated Andy Biggs in the Republican primary for U.S. Representative District 5 in Arizona yesterday.
Jones took 30% of the vote in the four-way race; Biggs had 29%.
AZCentral.com has not declared Jones the winner, but Jones leads by 876 votes with 100% of precincts reporting. I’m not sure if mail-in and absentee ballots have been counted.
District 5 is a reliably Republican district, so Jones should handily beat Democratic nominee Talia Fuentes in November.
She’ll be as incompetent, self-aggrandizing and useless in DC as she was @ GD . . .

“A voter initiative legalizing recreational marijuana will be on the November ballot after the Arizona Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected a final legal challenge to the measure.”
So it looks like Arizonans will have some interesting choices on their ballot.
Vote yes for pot! It’s WAY safer than alcohol.

“Congressional hopeful Christine Jones, who lost the Republican primary by just 9 votes to state Sen. Andy Biggs as the final votes were tallied early Saturday, is questioning the ballot count and seeking more information about how it was conducted.”
I love how both candidates are sure they won, when the difference is that close and a recount is automatic.
