Genentech, Roche, and Booking.com bought domain names last week.
Sedo had a great last week, handling 689 transactions for $1.5 million. The volume was driven by 100 four letter .com domain name sales, but its end user sales also had strong prices.
The 64,000 dollar question this week is, “Who paid $64,000 for PassItOn.com at Sedo?” The domain is still being transferred, and the current holding page for a company in stealth mode is left over from the seller. Perhaps we’ll find out next week who is behind the purchase.
Here’s a look at end user domain name sales from the past week on Sedo:
Bookings.ae €10,000 – Booking.com
Linktop.com $16,000 – This company creates safety products for kids and uses the domain name Linktop.com.cn.
FlixCar.de €5,000 – European bus service FlixBus.
AGS.co.uk €5,000 – AGS Security Systems Limited in the UK has a nice, short domain name.
AdvancedMedicine.org $1,000 – Progressive Health Systems Limited, a Hong Kong company.
CancerQuiz.org $1,877 – the site is registered to the owner of TheTruthAboutCancer.com. That site features doctors that believe in natural healing techniques.
Gabor-Home.com €1,500 – Women’s shoe and apparel company Gabor.
Ocrelizumab.com $5,250 – Biotechnology giant Genentech (part of Roche). Ocrelizumab is a promising drug from the company.
LabInATube.com $5,000 – Speaking of Roche, it’s working hard on “lab in a tube” systems.
Entrepreneur.beer $2,500 – Intellectual Property Management Company, Inc, a joint venture involving Sedo. It’s probably for Entrepreneur Media.
OnLogic.com £1,000 – Technology company Logic Supply.
Nettoyer.com €2,990 – UK commercial janitorial company Nettoyer Limited uses the .co.uk version of this domain name.
Adena.net $949 – Adena Health System in Ohio now owns Adena.org and .net, but not Adena.com.

MediaCollective.com $5,000 – Widen Enterprises (which owns Widen.com) offers “digital asset management software”.
CEOConsultant.com $9,679 – CEO Advisor, Inc. Guess what they do?
SHGR.com $7,950 – Success Hotel Management GmbH in Germany.
Furets.com €10,000 – thought GEICO was weird having a gecko as a mascot? Try LesFurets.com, an insurance broker. Yes, Furet translate to ferret.
