Sedo auction for Mex.com ends tomorrow and has just two bidders so far.
[Update: the auction closed at 29,111 EUR.]
Here’s an interesting auction for a three letter domain name at Sedo that closes tomorrow: Mex.com.
Bidding is currently at 10,100 EUR with just two bidders. It seems that the auction began after someone bid 10,000 EUR.
As far as three letter domains go, this is a winner. It’s not a winner for the typical reason a lot of three letter domains are worth a lot (because a number of companies use them as an acronym); It’s the Mexico connotation that makes it worth a lot.
According to DomainTools, about 46,000 domain names end with “Mex”. Over a hundred thousand start with “Mex”, but that includes domains in which Mex is part of Mexico or Mexican.
The auction for Mex.com ends Tuesday at 10:17 PM EDT.
There’s another three letter domain auction going on at Sedo as well. UBV.com has 10 bids and is up to $4,300. That auction ends August 29.
