Go Daddy releases details about Super Bowl commercial with .co
It’s kind of funny, isn’t it? Whenever people doubt (including me) the potential for a new top level domain name to go mass market, we often say “it would take a Super Bowl commercial to make a new domain name go mainstream”.
Today Go Daddy released details about its upcoming Super Bowl commercial featuring .co. While .co isn’t really a “new TLD”, it is being marketed as such. And this commercial will do a lot for .co, which has been marketed better than any other TLD launch to date.
“We think this new commercial will do for the dotCO domain, what our first Super Bowl commercial did for Go Daddy,” said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons in a press release this morning.
The beauty of Super Bowl commercials is the pre- and post- bowl media exposure. Don’t be surprised to see .Co Internet CEO Juan Diego Calle get plenty of airtime between now and the big game.
