Can anything stop the incredible string of sales of .US domain names? This week saw two more 5 figure domain sales, according to DNJournal. GourmetFoods.com sold for $10,750 and OrganicFoods.us sold for $10,000. There’s only one catch: the buyer is the same one that bought Foods.us for $20,000 last week. Without this particular buyer the sales wouldn’t be grabbing headlines. That said, VOIP.us, Industry.us, Business.us, and CellPhones.us have all sold for greater than $10,000 to other buyers.
The big .com sale last week was King.com for $155,000. This domain had been stolen, but originally went back to the original owner who will be partying like a king this week. A Japanese domain, Hotels.jp, sold for $40,000 and Butterflies.com sold for $30,000. iBegin.com sold for a rather high $14,501. HH.org sold for $6,000 on eBay. (See Should you buy domains on eBay?).
Next week could be a biggie with the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference in Delray Beach, FL. Some of the biggest names in domain names will be there, and there will surely be some big transactions. Those transactions should show up in DNJournal’s sales list in two weeks.
