Company files trademark application suggesting third level domains under sucks.com will be available soon.
The man who hosted porn at WhiteHouse.com for many years is apparently about to make a business out of the domain name Sucks.com.
Dan Parisi owned WhiteHouse.com and hosted adult content on the domain to make money from it, drawing the ire of President Clinton at the time. He later sold the domain name.
In addition to owning lots of domains with WhiteHouse in them, Parisi apparently is a big fan of sucks domains. His email address is tied to brand names like AmwaysSucks.com and ATTsucks.com as well as generic sucks domains like AmericaSucks.com and EnglandSucks.com.
His big one, however, is Sucks.com. It is registered under the company name Internet Source LLC. And it appears Parisi is getting ready to open up third level registrations under Sucks.com, offering domains like something.sucks.com.
Spy Phone Labs, LLC, another company connected to Parisi, filed an intent-to-use trademark application for [FILL IN THE BLANK].SUCKS.COM.
The trademark application states it will be for “Domain name and Domain Name System (“DNS”) resolution services which maps a website name to the actual IP address where the website physically exists; and cloud hosting provider services.”
The company also filed an application for Sucks.com.
Here’s the fun thing: unlike the .Sucks top level domain name that has to abide by UDRP and other rights protection schemes, third level domains don’t fall under ICANN’s control.
I reached out to Parisi via phone and email and will update this story if I hear back.
