Rightside slims down premium list for .News, and some good domains will be available at regular prices.
Rightside’s upcoming .News top level domain name launch should be one to watch. .News works with many terms, giving it big potential for second level domain name registrations. Retail pricing is also a reasonable $20-$30.
I’ve commented before about how Rightside has managed to capture just about every good domain in its TLDs and stick a premium on them. The company is taking a different tack on .News: it will keep 12,000 at premium, but is releasing another 37k originally identified for the premium list at regular prices. (About half of those 12,000 premiums will be geo domains, meaning about 6,000 other terms will have a premium price.)
You can see the entire list of identified domains that aren’t priced at a premium here (.cvs).
The domains at the top of the list have been identified by Rightside as some of the better ones. Among those I like are:
NGO.news
Factory.news
GMO.news
Journalism.news
Lotto.news
Fracking.news
The domains will still go through Early Access, which means you might pay a one time premium to get the domains before they hit general availability. Early access starts July 8 and general availability is July 15.

Interesting since .news is one of the better new gTLDs coming out.
