Median sales price this year second only to .com.
Sedo released a report today with statistics about the .co aftermarket. The report is timed to coincide with the three year anniversary of .co being relaunched as a global generic domain.
The results (pdf) look very strong.
Since .co’s relaunch, Sedo has been involved with $2.6 million worth of .co domain name sales.
For the first half of 2013, the median .co selling price on Sedo was $570. That’s second only to .com among globally marketed top level domains.
The average .co selling price this year is actually higher than .com at $2,486, but average selling prices can be affected by one or two outlier sales.
To be sure, .co has auctioned off some of its high quality inventory on Sedo, which may have boosted the numbers. Still, I think most new TLD hopefuls would love to get the same results that .co has gotten in the aftermarket.
.Co may have Sedo to thank a bit for its success. Sedo had a role in kicking off the .co aftermarket, as it held a well publicized auction for e.co in June 2010.

Those Superbowl adds really do work! .COM is still the king, but .CO has done great thus far.
