If anyone cares, my comments as a domain buyer broker — IN CAPS
As I wrote earlier, Kim Dotcom bought k.im for $20,000. — SEEMS LIKE PLENTY FOR A FUNKY HACK DOMAIN BUT I SUPPOSE SHE HAS PLANS FOR IT.
The owner of compusurge.net bought compusurge.com for $900. — CHEAP BUY FOR THEM BUT WHO ELSE WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT SO OWNER MADE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
Designer bathroom company Roca Sanitario S. A. bought Roca.it for 3,500 EUR. — ASSUMING THEY ARE AN ITALIAN COMPANY AND THEY WILL DEVELOP IT, THIS DOMAIN IS PRICED RIGHT.
iRobot Corporation, maker of the Roomba vacuum, bought iRobot.pt for $2,500. — OBVIOUS TM ISSUE SO OWNER WAS LUCKY TO MAKE ANY MONEY OFF THE DOMAIN. IROBOT MAYBE FIGURED IT WAS EASIER TO BUY IT THAT FILE A UDRP.
The owners of ImpressiveBasements.com picked up ImpressiveFloors.com for $3,499. — SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS DOMAIN.
IBM bought ManyEyes.com for $8,800 for its data visualization tools. — HMMM. WONDER IF THE SELLER KNEW IBM WAS KNOCKING.
Verifone paid $1,500 for way2ride.com. — $1500 TOO MUCH
Little Fox Co., Ltd. went global with LittleFox.com for $45,000. It uses Littlefox.co.kr for its domain. .Kr is the country code top level domain for Korea. — WOW. LOOKS LIKE THE SELLER WAS A TOUGH NEGOTIATOR ON THIS ONE.
Target bought the Spanish language domain Targeta.info for $850. It does not own the .com. — ??? SEEMS LIKE A WASTE OF MONEY.
Thorpe Underwood Estate, which houses a college but opens itself up to guests when school is not in session, bought its acronym TUE.org for $9,888. — PLENTY OF MONEY. NOT A LOT OF POTENTIAL BUYERS SO A WIN FOR THE SELLER.
Adbrain Ltd, owner of Adbrain.co, bought the equivalent .com Adbrain.com for $6,000. — WONDER IF THEY WILL ABANDON THE .CO NOW.
Discover Life Church, owner of DiscoverLifeChurch.tv, bought DiscoverLifeChurch.com for $4,250. — YET ANOTHER STORY OF STARTING WITH A NON .COM AND BUYING THE .COM.
The creators of the MyTaxi app (mytaxi.com) bought MyTaxi.org for $1,500. — EH, GOOD TO HAVE I GUESS.
Phoenix law firm Coppersmith Brockelman PLC bought CBlawyers.com for $1,099. It owns CSBlaw.com. — HOW MANY BUYERS ARE OUT THERE FOR CBLAWYERS.COM? TAKE THE MONEY.
Erik Buell Racing, seller of racing bikes, bought the three letter domain name EBR.com for $25,000. It has been using EBRacing.com. — PERFECT MATCH. PLENTY OF MONEY TO THE SELLER AND BUYER CAN AFFORD $25,000. WIN/WIN.
Southall Associates LTD, a health and safety services company, bought SouthallAssociates.com for $900 and SafetyCloud.com for $5,000. Its web address is Southall Associates.co.uk. — $900 FOR A TM DOMAIN IS BETTER THAN A UDRP.
Food service company Caribbean Producers (Jamaica) Limited bought CPJ.com for $13,000. — LIKE EBR.COM BUT A BETTER PRICE. REAL WIN FOR THE BUYER. SELLER PRICED THE DOMAIN WAY TOO LOW.
Affordable Quality Moving & Storage bought LosAngelesMoving.com for $1,995. — REAL GOOD BUY FOR THE BUY, UNDERPRICED BY SELLER. ONE JOB AND THE DOMAIN IS PAID FOR.
Improvement Path Systems, a healthcare technology company, paid $8,200 for IPS.net. — A LITTLE PRICEY FOR A .NET BUT THE .COM IS PROBABLY NOT FOR SALE.
I can’t link it to a specific business, but the owner of MyWhiteLabel.us bought WhiteLabel.co for $1,500. — SO NOW THEY HAVE TO DROP THE MY PREFIX AND CHANGE FROM .US TO .CO? LOSE FOR BUYER, WIN FOR SELLER.
LRB Limited, creator of London Review of Books, bought LRB.me for $799. Its web site is LRB.co.uk. — WIN/WIN MAYBE A BIT CHEAP. I’M SURE THEY BUYER IS THRILLED.
The owner of the NFLtalk.com forum bought NFLforums.com for $1,000. — TM BUT COULD BE DEFENDED IF DOMAIN WAS PUT TO GOOD USE WITHOUT ADVERTISING. SO NFLFORUMS.COM SEEMS CHEAP AT $1000.
SecurityCoverage, Inc, which offers mobile phone recovery and security services, bought PhoneProtect.com for $3,000. — WIN/WIN. PLENTY FOR THIS DOMAIN. SELLER MIGHT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO NEGOTIATE FOR A HIGHER PRICE.
