Murphy registers domain name related to PRISM scandal. It gets traffic.
Domain Incite author Kevin Murphy is a lot of things. He’s a great writer, an expert in all things ICANN…
What he’s not is a domainer. But he “dabbled” in it yesterday with his registration of TurnkeyTyranny.com. The term was uttered by Edward Snowden, who leaked the NSA Prism documents.
Murphy tweeted this afternoon that the domain has received 130 hit in the past 12 hours.
But, in keeping with his lack of domaining skills, he hasn’t parked the domain. He’s just forwarded to an article on The Guardian.
Murphy will soon be able to verify that traffic to current event domains is short live.

I’m going to start TheDomainWireInciteNews.com, which will be where Andrew, Kevin, Adam and Mike can write stories about one another.
Andrew Allemann says
@ John Berryhill – try as a might, I don’t think I’ve been able to get Kevin to write about me. I’m baiting him.
Kevin Murphy says
It’s hardly a “lack of domaining skills”.
I’ve had over a dozen names parked with Sedo for three years and made over 20 euros so far.
That’s mad l33t domaining skillz, surely.
Samit says
20 euros! Sheesh, seems they pay more to more relevant bloggers. 😉
Snoopy says
Unfortunately there is only a handful of blogs written by genuine domainers. Most aren’t domaining for a living (ie they don’t really make much if anything doing it) so the advice is on the dubious side.
Andrew Allemann says
@ Snoopy – some of the blogs, like Kevin’s, aren’t trying to tell you how to make money with domains.
Kevin Murphy says
On the contrary, most people read DI because they think it will help them make money with domain names.
Just not (mostly) domainers.
Andrew Allemann says
@ Kevin Murphy –
Indeed. Not people like Snoopy.

Wait until Kevin receives a UDRP from an Anatolian crossdresser website, which is how I originally read that domain…
