.US Domain Name Auction Off to Strong Start

Moniker times auction with Independence Day, and it’s off to a great start.

dot-USWhat better domain name topic to write about on July 4 than .us?

Moniker’s .us domain name auction at SnapNames is off to a strong start with 11 of the 86 domain names already receiving bids. The auction runs through July 8. Compared to many recent Moniker auctions, this one would sell a higher percentage of domains even if it closed today.

The main reason for the strong start is a good list of quality inventory. It’s also limited to 86 domains, which makes it easy to sort through.

Here are some of the domains that haven’t received bids yet that I think are good at the price:

DebtConsolidation.us $1,180
Therapists.us $1,180 (fantastic opportunity to create an online therapists directory)
CreditUnions.us $590
Laundromats.us $590 (this is my domain)
SaltWaterPools.us $590 (this is my domain)
AssociateDegrees.us $300
HealthQuotes.us $300

I held off on submitting a few of my city .us domains to the auction, but if anyone is interested in these domains please let me know: Albuquerque.us, SanFrancisco.us, KansasCity.us.

    Therapists.us…..to broad.

    What kind of therapists?

I don’t think it is well defined.

Hey Andrew….do domains have to be registed at Snapnames to be able to sell them there?

    Tim,

I have some domains in the auction that are on different registrars, so I guess the answer is no.

    Wow!
What a fantastic opportunity for someone to create an online directory of the rapists in the us.
    Really?
Is that what you’re selling here!?

    Thanks Brad. :)

How do you submit those then because the site says to tranfer your domains to them?

  8. July 4th, 2010 | 8:28 pm

You have to agree to their strict terms for all names on auction, including names not with Moniker , some say these terms are unreasonable ? , good luck all

    Thanks Roddy. :)

There’s usually a transfer fee if it sells and isn’t yet at Moniker.

why didn’t you submit your geo .us domains? as i recall sanfrancisco.us sold for $3500
also does any of your .us geos have a website on them? do they get any legitimite traffic?

  14. July 6th, 2010 | 1:31 pm

SanFrancisco.us did not sell for $3500.

Of all the geo cities, SanFrancisco.us gets some traffic, although not much. I didn’t submit them because I have a couple pending offers in on them.
