A look back at the last month in domain news.

Here are the top five stories on Domain Name Wire in July, ranked by number of views.

1. Oakland Raiders Take Fight Off Field for Domain Name – The Oakland Raiders football team filed for arbitration to get the domain name OaklandRaiders.com. The case was terminated and the domain handed over to the National Football League.

2. GoDaddy Files Patent for Method of Selling Equity in Domain Names – domain name registrar GoDaddy filed a patent for a method of selling equity in domain names, and for securing said domain names while securitized.

3. Transamerica Sues Moniker Over Trademarked Domain Names – insurance company Transamerica sued domain name registrar Moniker, alleging cybersquatting. Only problem is the case is full of obvious errors. Read the comments on the article to see even more errors than the ones I discovered.

4. New Domain Parking Company Worth a Look – RevenueDriver provides a new option for domainers, starting in Europe.

5. Domain Registrar eNom Sued. Here’s My Take. – a man sues eNom for allowing a domain transfer to go through on a domain name he claims he owns. It doesn’t add up, though.
