Keep up-to-date on new CEO via Twitter.
New ICANN CEO Rod Beckstrom is certainly a different type of businessman than former CEO Paul Twomey. As an entrepreneur and having published his own book, Beckstrom is a marketing guy. That means he’s more visible in cyberspace than his predecessor.
One example is Twitter, where Beckstrom provides updates as @RodBeckstrom. Earlier today he tweeted:
Attending #ICANN operational management meeting. Amazing range of projects and activities I’m learning about. Stimulating and fun.
and on July 5:
Reading through mountain of excellent materials given to me by Paul Twomey, former CEO of #ICANN & now Sr. President. Thanks Paul!
Now this isn’t exactly earth shattering, but it’s a big step up in visibility. It also means that Beckstrom is accessible. Will that translate into a different mentality at ICANN? Only time will tell.
