The live domain name auction at the TRAFFIC conference in Las Vegas last week resulted in over $2M in doman name sales.
Among the big winners was a groundbreaking .net sale of Sex.net for $450,000. CD.com sold for $275,000 and POS.com for $250,000. POS has many possible uses; one of the big ones is Point of Sale systems, a very competitive retail market.
These domain sales have not yet been completed, but you can expect them to show up in DNJournal’s weekly sales chart when the domains actually change hands. This Tuesday night DNJournal will release its sales figures for the past two weeks. There are sure to be some big sales to report.
According to a press release from TRAFFIC organizer Rick Schwartz, the Las Vegas conference pulled in more than 500 people.
