After a long wait (see DNForum’s paid parking service ready to leave beta?), DNForum has launched its paid parking service at ParkingSite.com. Its features blow away most other parking services, and it has the potential to become #1 in short order.
Among the things I like about the service:
-95% payout. ParkingSite only rakes 5% off the top!
-Templates. And I mean tons of templates so that your domain will actually look like it has a real site, not some generic header that all sites use. You can target the template header to the topic of your domain (e.g. computers).
-Payments are at will. In other words, you don’t have to wait 30-60 days to get payment…you can request a payout via PayPal whenever you want!
-Keyword targeting. Most Google-based PPC programs don’t allow any sort of keyword targeting, as Google’s system “guesses” which keywords are right. From my experience the guesses can be pitiful. Your domain goes live with predetermined keywords right away, but it can take up to a week to get your suggested keywords implemented. This isn’t too unreasonable.
There will certainly be some kinks to work out, but this week could be a great one for domain name owners everywhere. I’m just moving my first domain to ParkingSite now, and will follow up with my results. So far I’m happy; my initial domain was approved within a few hours.
