GoMilfy.com uses GoDaddy look to parody Sarah Palin.
DNForum member Acro has done a great job parodying Sarah Palin using the same look of GoDaddy’s web site:
The attention to detail is stunning and hilarious. Be sure to check out Acro’s version of the GoDaddy Girls. You can visit the parody at GoMilfy.com.
In a blog post, Acro suggests that GoDaddy likely endorses Barack Obama for president.
No so fast, Acro. GoDaddy chief Bob Parsons has given generously to John McCain, including the maximum $2,300 this year and last year. This doesn’t surprise me given Parsons’ military background and since McCain is a Senator from Arizona (where both Parsons and GoDaddy are based).
Parsons also gave money to Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens, one of the backers of the Snowe Bill. But he donated before the Snowe Bill and this was a smart business decision given Stevens’ position in the senate for technology issues.
Among Parsons’ other contributions: both the Democratic and Republican senatorial committees, Safari Club International, and a mix of republican and democratic candidates.
If you want to see who other domain name industry leaders are backing, you can do a complete search by employer, name, or location at OpenSecrets.org.

Thanks for the linkback; I am obviously adding a twist to GoDaddy’s gracious admittance that the GoMilfy.com site is a parody. I’m pretty sure Bob, an ex US Marine, votes Republican – but it was interesting seeing them “approve this message” for Palin’s spoof web site 🙂

/ “I don’t foresee it will sell on eBay” Acro /
This may have started as a parody but that ceased once you placed the “mirrored” content, as you put it, on Ebay for sale. Fair use went out the window, as you sought to profit off Godaddy’s TRADE DRESS and likeness. It appears that some of the elements you took and modified straight from the Godaddy site. There’s no humor in any of this.

Great work, Acro!
Though it seems Ted Stevens may be out of the technology business for about…let’s see….seven counts for up to five years each…

Ken – I suspect that putting it on eBay is just a way to draw more attention to it. The media eats up those stories. Look at the price tag 🙂

Nowhere in this Ebay listing does Acro mention that this is not a legitimate sale offer. As far as I know Ebay themselves does not allow fake listings. Pricing it out of range is not justification for infringement to profit, whether that be by exposure for one’s business or monetarily.

Acro has been drinking too much kool-aid.

Oh Snap!
Acro, you so crazy!

Ken, make an honest offer of $150k on eBay and I will gladly accept it. Until then, keep up the attempts to be a junior attorney’s apprentice. I won’t even discuss your lack of a sense of humor. The bottom line is, GoDaddy endorsed it and they actually like the publicity. What exactly is your problem?
