Charitable event hopes to raise $55,000 for clean water.
Water Night, a charitable event benefiting The Water School, will take place on the last night of NamesCon next month in Las Vegas.
The event is from 8 pm to midnight on January 14 at the Havana Room at the Tropicana Hotel, where the rest of the conference is taking place.
Although free to attend for NamesCon attendees, registration is required.
NamesCon attendees are asked to make a donation, but it’s not required. People who want to go to Water Night but are not registered for NamesCon are required to make a donation of $100 or more.
NamesCon is donating $20,000 to the cause, and hopes to raise $55,000 on the evening. WaterShave may also claim its next couple victims: Jothan Frakes and Yancy Naughton have offered to have their heads shaved with a charitable goal of $20,000.
In other good news for the charity, Water School Uganda recently received a $100,000 cash grant from STARS Foundation, a Saudi backed London based philanthropy fund.
