AtomPay gives domain sellers an affordable platform for handling domain sales payments and transfers.
Domain name sales platform Atom has launched the AtomPay service that it announced earlier this month.
AtomPay allows domain sellers to use the Atom payment and transfer platform to handle domain transactions that originated outside of Atom.
Sellers create a custom checkout link for buyers and provide this link to buyers. Buyers check out at this link and Atom handles the payment and transfer.
AtomPay also works with lease-to-own transactions.
Atom charges a 4.5% commission. For lease-to-own transactions 12 months and longer, Atom adds a surcharge split with the seller (65% to seller, 35% to Atom). If the domain is already a Premium listing on Atom, the commission is 15%.
The service provides an alternative to Afternic’s similar service, which was an extension of Dan Payments. Afternic’s commission is 5%, with a 10% commission for lease-to-own transactions. Afternic limits lease-to-own transactions to 12 months with its checkout links.
