Atom announces new products to expand sales reach.
Atom (formerly Squadhelp) announced several new features and programs today under the umbrella of AtomConnect.
One is the Atom Distribution Network, which will syndicate Atom domain listings to partner sites, including registrars and startup service providers.
The company will syndicate both Atom Premium and regular Atom listings. Regular Atom listings will need to opt into the program to be included, and these names will carry a higher commission (15% vs. 7.5%). In addition to the syndication, domains opted into the higher commission tier will get retargeting ads and be eligible for submission to Atom naming contests. (Atom previously offered a higher tier with retargeting ads and contest submission for 20%.)
Atom also plans to syndicate other marketplaces’ inventory through its distribution network.
Another big launch is AtomPay, which allows marketplaces and domain investors to add Atom’s payment and transfer service to any site. It charges just 4.5%, including the payment.
Atom is also going after the expired domain market by partnering with individual registrars. The company’s solution lets the registrar auction its expired domain inventory and helps surface valuable expiring domains using AI.
Other services under AtomConnect include a domain search API that leverages AI and a domain marketplace builder.
Mark Thorpe says
A bigger and better distribution network was on my wish list.
Andrew Allemann says
It will be interesting to see how this is implemented. Right now we have Afternic DLS and Sedo MLS. Both offer an automated fast transfer feature, which registrars and consumers like. The big challenge for anyone other than GoDaddy is they won’t get in front of GoDaddy customers.
I like what Atom is doing here, and it will be beneficial for the industry to have additional competition.
