Entrepreneur Michael Cyger uses great domain to launch game site.
I found a new time suck this weekend: pyramid solitaire. And I know exactly who to blame.
Last week, Michael Cyger and his 13-year-old son held a mini spring break hackathon and developed a web version of the game. It’s easy to find, too, since the game is hosted at Pyramid.com.
Cyger acquired the domain name in 2019 and has offered it for sale. Now, the domain is the basis for his hackathon project, and he has bigger plans.
“When the chance for a spring break programming ‘hackathon’ with my son arose, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to bring Pyramid.com to life,” he told Domain Name Wire. “My goal is to make Pyramid.com as popular as Wordle has become since 2022, and it deserves one of the shortest, most memorable, and trustworthy names available to achieve this.”
Cyger noted that solitaire is a very popular game, with over 6 million searches per month, but pyramid solitaire isn’t as popular.
Indeed, although I’ve played the traditional version of solitaire for many years, this is my first time playing the pyramid version.
It’s a fun game involving a pyramid of cards. You remove cards from the pyramid by adding two cards that total a value of 13. It’s easy to pick up and play in a few minutes.
Pyramid.com is currently on ProductHunt, and you can play pyramid solitaire here.

A stunning domain. The problem is you will get no sales inquiries with a developed site on it and the site isn’t a natural fit for the domain. I would say this can’t last.

Perhaps…but I think for a domain like this, a qualified buyer is going to come with at least a strong six figure offer. And I don’t think the site will deter someone like this from inquiring.
