It’s one of at least a dozen registrars that use GoDaddy to auction off expired domains.
While reviewing expired domains at GoDaddy this week, I noticed that PorkBun has moved its expiry domains to GoDaddy Auctions.
PorkBun is a relatively small registrar but is growing quickly. It previously sent its expired domains to Dynadot, which has its own expired domain auction platform.
PorkBun founder Ray King knows a thing or two about expired domains. He was a co-founder of SnapNames, which he left before it was later sold to Oversee.net.
If you’re keeping score at home, here are some of the (non-Godaddy-owned) registrars that send their expired domains to GoDaddy Auctions:
Annulet
Bigrock
Domain.com
DomainSite
Enom
FastDomain
GMO
Key-Systems
Moniker
Name.com
PDR
Tucows

Ray already mentioned that PorkBun was created to help Top Level Design sell their TLDs. So unless he sells those TLDs as well, I expect PorkBun to keep going by itself. He indeed sold .design to GoDaddy Registry, but not the other TLDs.

What about directi.com?

I think their primary brand is PDR. It’s all part of newfold now. They own NameJet and SnapNames but some of their brands go to Godaddy.

Right. Was looking at my old list.
