This crowdsourced name selection service could be the missing link between companies and the domain aftermarket.
I have a fascinating discussion this week with Darpan Munjal, founder and CEO of SquadHelp.com. This company helps businesses select new company and product names with the help of a crowd of name suggesters. It’s been quite successful; it was #247 on this year’s Inc 5000 list and generated $2.5 million in revenue, mostly from naming contest fees.
Late last year the company added a domain name element to its business that could be very interesting to domain name investors, especially those that invest in brandable domains.
Before chatting with Darpan I have a brief interview with Abner Duarte, who is organizing the Domaining Americas conference in Brazil in October.

Great interview Darpan and Andrew. It’s ideas like this that promise to shake up the traditional domain industry. I just hand reg’d ™Investing(.)com and WordInvesting(.)com that could compliment some of Darpan’s ideas to be a one stop name shop.
Cheers!

This site is a joke. They do not pay for premium domain names. “Please note that asking for additional compensation from contest holders is a violation of our Terms of Service. You should only submit these names in a contest if you are willing to accept contest award prize as a compensation for these names”.
I don’t think that’s accurate. That might be old info.
Hey Chris,
You might be looking at a different section of the website. As a domain owner, you can first submit those names for listing in the Squadhelp marketplace at a premium/ Buy It Now price.
Once you do that, you can enter those names in any relevant contest which is open to premium domains (about 80% of the contests we run are open to premium domains).
This way, if the contest holder likes your name, they can purchase it at the listed Buy It Now price directly from our marketplace.
If you still have questions, we have a 24 X 7 chat support team – they can provide assistance at any time.
best,
Darpan
