Strange domain name registrations related to healthcare.
This morning I was reviewing recent domain name registrations when I came across a handful of domain names that seem to be related to Obamacare:
HealthCure-Enroll.com
HealthCure-Gov.com
HealthCureEnrollment.com
HealthCureGov.com
Health Cure could be a clever name for new legislation to replace the Affordable Care Act, i.e. Obamacare. The U.S. government currently uses the domain name HealthCare.gov for its enrollment site.
But the registrant makes little sense to me:
I suppose Fox News could register the domain names to capture traffic from its right-leaning audience. If it knows something. Yet FoxNews.com is registered via Fox News Network, LLC c/o Twentieth Century Fox.
As for HealthCure.com, that’s registered by Gregg Ostrick. It’s listed for sale on Afternic for about $25,000.

Of note, someone picked up Trumpcure.com in Nov 2016.

My guess is someone at Markmonitor made an error

Often they’ll register domain names that appear in scripted programming (TV shows, movies), even in a minor capacity (i.e. not just “obvious” ones like the title, but even a character mentioning/using a domain) to prevent someone else from purchasing the domain name and filling it with porn, etc. They’ve done that before for The Simpsons, I believe.
Perhaps someone who watches a lot of TV or movies will see the domain name one day, and find this blog post!

It’s to promote the upcoming film Cure for Wellness.

Likely defensive registrations – common in the film industry especially if a mock site is used in a movie or tv scene where the domain name is shown on a device, billboard, etc.
