Disney, AMC and other big names bought domain names last week.
Sedo had a busy sales week when it came to selling domain names to big name end users. From Disney, to $10 billion clothing company Next, to AMC, a number of household brands bought domain names at the marketplace last week.
Interestingly, these three companies bought non-.com domains. .Club was the beneficiary of two of these big buyers, while AMC bought a .tv (although it has the matching .com domain name).

FIF.co.uk 2,295 GBP – First Independent Finance in the UK
Penguin.club $8,000 – Disney, for its Club Penguin
Next.club $4,500 – $10 billion (market cap) clothing company Next Plc.
ParadiseFound.co.uk 999 GBP – Travel agency Hayes & Jarvis (Travel) Limited
NewMe.co.uk 899 GBP – The whois lists News UK & Ireland Limited, which I believe is News Corp
DrivewayGates.co.uk 770 GBP – UK fencing company Gates and Fences UK
FightFans.com $1,288 – The domain was registered to FightFans.com, which looks like it’s just getting started.
SignatureCelebrations.com $1,200 – This California balloon seller was using the matching .biz domain.
GelBeds.com $750 – WonderGel, seller of gel cushions.
IRAAdvantage.com $1,500 – Equity Advantage, which also runs a 1031 tax-advantaged real estate site at 1031Exchange.com.
USA4sale.com $4,999 – USA4SALE Networks, which runs online classifies services at the matching .net.
GeoTarget.net $1,299 – Business Data, which sells what it’s name suggests. It does not own the matching .com.
WorldAirGames.com 1,498 EUR – Federation Aeronautique Internationale, an organization for air sports.
Shudder.tv $10,000 – Entertainment company AMC Networks bought this domain for use by its IFC Films group. They also own Shudder.com, and appear to be launching a horror/thriller on demand video service.
PcheapTickets.com $800 – CitizenHawk bought this domain on behalf of Orbitz’s CheapTickets.com.
MediaPlanetGroup.com $1,250 – Content marketing company Media Planet, which uses the domain name MediaPlanet.com.
ArtSupplies.org $3,000 – EIKA, a company that sells art and other supplies to non-profits and schools.
MyLogis.com $7,000 – Logis Hotels, a European hotel company.
AirTickets.com.co 1,000 EUR – AirTickets Tourist Services in Athens, Greece. They use the domain AirTickets.gr.
BenchmarkAuto.com $2,877 – Benchmark Bank in Plano, Texas (outside of Dallas)
Starmaker.tv 5,450 GBP – StarMaker Interactive, maker of a singing app.
MikeKim.com $10,000 – Some guy names Michael Kim. Unfortunately for him, a lot of people share his name.
