Popular domain investing blog moves to a new domain name.
If you visit Elliot Silver’s popular domaining blog today, don’t be alarmed by the redirect to DomainInvesting.com.
Silver has rebranded the site from ElliotsBlog.com to DomainInvesting.com. The move will certainly help expand the audience of the blog and build credibility for new users.
The new branding also comes with a slightly refreshed website.
I think this is a smart move, although it will certainly come with a lot of headaches, too. Even with the best plans, changing URLs is tricky when it comes to Google. I imagine that Elliot considered the challenges but decided it would be better in the long run even if the site takes a short term hit in search engines.
Historical whois records show that Silver bought the domain name from his friend and fellow domain investor, Lonnie Borck.

Thank you for sharing the news! Quite a bit of thought went into the decision, and it’s taken considerable effort to make it happen. Feedback (both positive and negative) would be appreciated.

Mazel Tov and smart move. Kinda shocked me for a second last night before I realized it was still you. First noticed your logo changed in my RSS reader and had to click through to investigate.

I think it was smart to include Elliot’s Blog in the new logo on the site, even if that’s just transitional.

Fully agree. That was actually what calmed me down from the initial shock lol.
