UDRP panel orders VS4.com transferred

Three character domain name lost in UDRP.

A single member UDRP panel has ordered the domain name VS4.com be transferred to adult entertainment company VS Media, Inc.

The company claims trademark rights to the term VS. It also owns the domain names VS1.com, VS2.com, and VS3.com.

The owner of the domain name didn’t respond to the accusations. From what I can tell, the whois record for the domain name changed shortly before the case was filed. At that time, the email address associated with the domain name was removed.

It’s entirely possible that the registrant of the domain name was trying to take advantage of VS Media. The registrant also didn’t help himself out by not responding. Still, I find the basic “rubber stamp” approval in favor of the complainant rather troubling. We’re talking about a two letter trademark and a three character domain name has been taken away as a result.

It is galling to see such decisions and,as you say, rubber stamp decisions, when in actuality the Complainant is stepping far far outside the realms of any trade mark protection he MAY have. That is why I am determined, and will, take any UDRP to Court ,as I have done before.
