Google gets in on the one letter .co craze.
.Co Internet has found a home for another one letter .co domain name: Google.
The internet giant has purchased rights to g.co, joining an all-star cast of companies picking up one letter .co domains:
Twitter: t.co
Overstock: o.co
Go Daddy: x.co
Amazon.com: A.Co, Z.Co and K.Co
Google plans to use g.co as a URL shortener.
.Co Internet has received a lot of press around the big companies that have registered its one letter domain names. Although eventually they’ll run out of short domains to sell, it’s a smart strategy to get big names on board. And having them use the URL as a shortener means millions of links will populate the web with the .co brand.
That will be great for my G.BIZ that Google does like Overstock and try to buy all the G.TLD.
I purchased it for launch an award program for GREEN companies but a good offer on the name will probably cancel my initial plans.
Viva Colombia !
So .co means a URL shortener service. Wonderful.
Google either got it for free, or real cheap, as a PR tool to create buzz IMO.
Why isn’t Lonnie’s e.co listed in the all-star cast? It’s probably the best one because it actualy means something on it’s own.
Wonder what’s left for Apple to own?
A.CO already taken by Amazon
M.CO (for Mac)
P.CO?
looks like that they blocked .cc domain from search results
as they were not able to get the same domain name on .cc lol 🙂
Its nice to hear that google.com acquired g.co and hope for 6 figure for my unique domain submit.co
Why are people still waisting time bashing the .Co domain extension? The .co is a success so get over it. Thats like me waisting my time bashing another extension that I did not buy into. Now with google and G.co I think the bashing of the .Co can end. People posting negitive things about the .co are going to look really stuipid now. So give up the bashing. Why is it every form that is about the .Co has tons of comments on it. Because it is a popular extension now so get over it.

People… bashing the .CO …because some of them have owned thousands of valuable .com portfolios since 1995s…. They worried about .CO taking over .com and consequently drop their long time .com values.
So, they like to bash .CO to make sure their .com are still number one on top of the world.
Just like you work in an office where your colleagues jealous about your god job and wanted to destroy you by talking behind your back or back-stepping you in order to get rid of you or sack you…
He then gets your top job or promotion…
It is my observation / opinion…
.CO is definitely the way to Go! It was almost the original extension and really should have been since it has meaning to it (Corporation, Company, etc). With all the support and discussions surrounding it, it’s pretty clear that it is a valuable extension.
I use it everyday for my internet marketing company and had nothing but good feedback.
If you missed the boat when the .CO’s first came out, now is your chance to grab some as we approach the first year renewal/drop period. Check out http://www.domainnamesales.co for more info and some premium .CO’s for sale.
