.Biz domain name appears to have sold for big bucks.
Yes, I’m scratching my head too.
Sedo’s recent domain sales thread shows all.biz selling for a whopping $61,750. I checked the whois history and it appears the domain name just changed ownership, although it’s now protected by a whois proxy service.
The buyer appears to be all-biz.info, a directory of “Enterprises, goods and service from whole the world”.
I think this might be the highest reported .biz sale ever. NameBio shows the top sale previously as e.biz at $66,001. There may have been some early sales that were higher, but certainly nothing in recent years.
The only reason it seems that I’m adding caution here is that the deal seems so outrageous to me.
[Update: Sedo just sent out its weekly sales list that confirms the sale.]

No problem with the sale. Glad to hear it. Will look forward to a site being built on the domain.

I just don’t get it! I’m so jealous I can close my Sedo accounts!!

Money laundering maybe ?
I guess we will see if the site is used for anything.

It is amazing the domains that sell for high prices, when I look at my way better names that dont even get offers.
All.biz wouldn’t have cracked $1,000 in a domain name forum for sale post.
You just never know what will sell for a high amount!

ccTLD’s are selling like hotcakes right now, now that the gTLD plans aren’t looking so hot.
Strong-keyword ccTLD’s are JUMPING in value.

Looks like Casinos.biz also just sold for around $16k
Carlos Holdem says
Thats almost right Andrew, these are prices i got from the Sedo feed:
casinos.biz, $19,000
casino.bi, $1,300
Congrats to the new All.biz owner, looking forward to see the new site.

All.biz I can actually understand – just like O.co fetches a ridiculous amount for branding purposes, All.biz could be seen by an unknowing mainstream business as a high quality brand potential and fork out a lot for it.
What I don’t understand is Casinos.biz. Casinos has not been a power word really – casino has, but casinos.ext hasn’t really commanded a lot of value, and it doesn’t really fit .biz much except that for whatever reason, some affiliate programs have been going with .biz to separate it out from their .com site – and at that it’s usually their name .biz and not a generic, so who knows.

and what 11biz.com ?
