Domain investors predict rising values in 2011.
Domainers are nothing if not an optimistic lot.
55% of people who took Domain Name Wire’s 2011 survey think domain values will increase in 2011 compared to 2010. Only 14% predict a drop.
This should come as no surprise based on the answer to this question over the past six years. Take a look:
In only one year since I started this survey have domainers shown any pessimism. Only 32% of survey takers predicted an increase in values in 2009 compared to 2008. This may be accurate, but as a group we aren’t always good predictors.
Back in 2007 we hit our height of bullishness, with 77% predicting an increase in values compared to 2006. This is fairly accurate. But then 75% predicted that 2008 would be better than 2007. Few would argue that played out.

looks like the best time to have purchased names were in 2009 while everyone else was taking cover.

The predictions are right on as domainers could not see the economic crash that was coming neither could the financial industry but as good domains become rare ie dot com we will see a rush to get the last fruit on the vine .com mainly.
