ICANN’s Board will make big decisions Friday. Here’s what I think will happen.
On Friday ICANN’s board will meet and pass resolutions on a handful of contentious issues. Here are my predictions on two of them.
.XXX – Full steam ahead. The stalling game will conclude even though the Free Speech Coalition says .xxx will be the end of the internet as we know it.
New TLDS – The comment period of the proposed Final Draft Applicant Guidebook ends shortly before the board meeting. Several new (and major) changes were made in the latest edition with “to be determined” measures. So don’t expect ICANN’s board to lock down the guidebook. If it did, people would (rightly) be able to say that ICANN didn’t take into consideration their comments. Instead, expect it to lay out specific issues that it will resolve by a certain date — perhaps within 30-60 days — at which point it will be approved.

I think its good to have .xxx, if you know what it is you can either avoid it or go to it, quite simple really

I have noticed increased curiosity with two of my domains: unluckedxxx.com and websiteforxxx.com perhaps it has something to do with this.
Uzoma says
oops correction. That should be unlockedxxx.com

I’d get that crystal ball checked out, Andrew — .xxx is close but not yet a done deal, and the goalposts moved again on new gTLDs

@ Philip – my crystal ball works for everything except ICANN board decisions
