Successor to FindWhat unloads domain name.
Vertro (VTRO) reported second quarter results yesterday, and that included a gain of about $285,000 from the sale of a domain name. Domainers probably know Vertro as the successor of FindWhat.
After doing some checking with Vertro, I confirmed that the domain name was Screensavers.com. Moniker auctioned the domain name in a showcase auction earlier this year, selling the domain for $335,000. Vertro took home roughly $285,000 after Moniker’s commission.
According to Compete.com, Screensavers.com receives about 70,000 unique visitors per month. The site offers downloads of screensavers as well as “freebies of the day”. The domain name appears to be currently financed by Domain Capital.
