From memorable names to search terms, Austin allergists have good domain names.
A few years ago I wrote about an oral surgeon in Austin with a great domain name – Jawpain.com. Last week I used Google to find an allergist in Austin, and was impressed with the domain names these local doctors were using.
The second result was for Allergy and Asthma Center of Austin, which uses the catchy domain name NoSneezes.com. Allergy and Asthma Consultants uses the keyword domain name AustinAllergy.com. Lake Austin Asthma & Allergy Associates one ups them with AustinAllergies.com, which likely receives more searches than the singular version.
There were also some domain names that I didn’t like. Austin Allergy Associates uses both AustinAllergyAssoc.com and AustinAllergyAssociates.com. Both are long, but I give them credit for thinking to register both an abbreviated version and the long form.
Quick, the whois record for AustinAllergist.com says the domain name is for sale.

A domain like “NoSneezes.com” is great for advertising, but crappy for SEO. If I was in charge of advertising I would put my site at “AustinAllergies.com” and optimize that for the search engines, then I would advertise the domain “NoSneezes.com” in print and media advertising and just forward it to AustinAllergies.com. This would be getting the best of both worlds, memorability for print advertising and optimization for search engines.

Andrew,
It also says the domain expired on March 10,2009.
It’s regged at Fabulous and in Redemption period.
So yes, anyone who wants it should be quick.

Just wondering what everyone thinks about companies that “don’t get it.”
Recently, I have run across domain names that really should be registered by specific companies.
They’re trademarks, so I don’t want them.
For example, one is the name of a new TV show that started recently, another was the name of a pretty famous rock/blues band.
Often, I contact the trademark holder, if I can figure out who to contact. Sometimes they buy the name (and are greatful), but usually I never get a response. I don’t know why I bother — I guess it entertains me.
“We don’t get it” is so ingrained in these companies that their marketing departments don’t even have good ways to communicate with them (or educate them).
I shouldn’t be surprised that they don’t protect their trademarks.
