Domains priced $1,000-$10,000 are picking up steam, as evidenced by recent sales at Afternic.
Big, 6-figure domain sales get all of the press. But let’s face it, most of us can’t afford to play that game. I typically buy domains under $10,000 and find that there are a number of bargains to be had in this price range.
I’ve noticed an uptick in 4-figure domain sales at Afternic over the past 10 days. A lot of the domains selling for over $1,000 seem like a good deal for the seller; the buyer had a specific need and was willing to pay a good price for a domain that could have sold for much less. Some examples:
Coachology.com $1500
SisterSlim.com $2500
SaveonGolf.com $2400
One-Cast.com $1488
SeeMyrtleBeach.com $3000
TheTireShack.com $2488
Simplimatic.com $2000
EasyShirts.com $1850
MediaFire.com $2000
TheCookieDiet.com $1000
BlueBee.com $10,000
SimpleMeasures.com $3000
iLoveStickers.com $1200
GoGrid.com $1500
I could see many of these domains being sold to resellers on forums for well under $1,000. But the right buyers came searching for these domains — resulting in some nice payoffs for the owners.
