Many domain name owners go beyond simply parking their domains with companies like DomainSponsor. They create mini sites of content related to the domain name and add Google Adsense ads to the pages. For example, see my CankerSores.com site. As a parked page it wasn’t getting traction in search engines and made minimal revenue, so I created a small site with Adsense ads. It now earns more money than as a simple parked page (I’ve had sites start earning 10x the standard parking revenue within a day of creating a mini site).
If you use Google Adsense then you are aware of “PSA” ads, or public service ads. These ads are shown when Google can’t find a relevant text ad for your site (or hasn’t crawled it yet). You don’t get paid for clicks on PSAs. But there is a simple solution to eliminate PSAs: AlternateURL. AlternateURL is a program that replaces your PSAs with more pay-per-click ads. If a PSA is sent by Google it will be replaced by AlternateURL with a new ad. You’re not going to get rich with this program, but every click on these new ads is revenue you lose if you don’t have the system implemented. Here’s a link to sign up for AlternateURL. I appreciated if you use this link, as it will count as a referral for me 🙂
