After a longgggg wait by small web site publishers, Yahoo appears to be on the verge of offering an Adsense-like product, according to CNET News.com. This is great news for web site publishers and domain name owners as there will finally be some good competition. Up to this point, the competition has been weak because content ad providers like SearchFeed and Revenue Pilot have low bid amounts…meaning less money for publishers. Yahoo’s entry might force Google to change some of it’s strict terms (e.g., you can’t tell anyone what you make with Adsense) and give more insite into what percentage of revenue Google is passing along to you. Let’s see if Yahoo’s Overture comes out with a good service!
