Domain name registrar is growing quickly.
Domain name registrar Namecheap made the 2016 Inc. 5000 list, coming in at #2,944 with 117% three-year growth.
The company had 2015 revenue of $76 million, according to the Inc. listing.
Most of Namecheap’s names are registered through enom as a reseller, which is why you don’t see the company on registrar leaderboards. NameCheap has historically accounted for about a quarter of all of Rightside’s domains under management.
I can’t find any other domain name companies on the list by searching for “name” or “domain”.

NameCheap does new gTLD registrations and ccTLD registrations under “NameCheap Inc” directly. I believe .INFO and .BIZ registrations are also under Namecheap.
Legacy extensions ORG/NET/COM, including Namecheap.com, go through Enom. Why don’t they start processing and moving domains over to the Namecheap registrar? It would save customers and NC a lot of money and provide for faster DNS propagation.

There’s no monetary benefit. Having your name on a list that 23 people look at doesn’t bring in any more money.

Actually, being on the Inc 5000 list is very helpful for marketing.

Agreed, but was referring to the registrar leader boards.

Oh…got it 🙂

Yes the 5000 list is helpful for marketing.
Lots of issues with DNS updates through Name cheap as a reseller. If they handled registrations directly for COM/NET/ORG I believe these issues might be alleviated.
