Bonnie Wittenburg takes over the top spot at domain name registrar Moniker.
Domain name registrar Moniker has a new CEO, Bonnie Wittenburg.
Wittenburg has been with Moniker’s parent company KeyDrive since 2009, where she served as Executive Vice President of Key-Systems USA. She has been in the domain name industry since 1999, including stints at idNames (later part of Network Solutions and then Verisign) and Iron Mountain.
She replaces Craig Snyder, who came over as CEO when KeyDrive acquired Moniker and SnapNames from Oversee.net. Snyder will remain CEO of SnapNames.
Moniker has typically been popular with domain name investors. However, its product offerings and site have been somewhat stale in recent years. The company does not appear to have signed the 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement yet so it is not offering any of the new top level domain names, either.
The company has U.S. offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Austin, and Portland.

She has her work cut out for her, they should have been in the GTLD game, they lost a lot of revenue, and have had many bugs that have cost many more customers.

Congrats to Bonnie.
I hope it’s the begining of a radical and positive change for Moniker and SnapNames.

I am a big fan of Moniker, the customer service people are helpful, available, and the site easily navigated.
Prices ok, so I say……

There are great things coming to Moniker this year which we hope will greatly improve the issues that have held it back in the past year. The promotion of Bonnie to the CEO role is but the first of many steps designed to improve customer service and usability, volume of product offerings and to raise the company profile.

Worst service in the world @ Moniker. Incompetent staff and always a pain in the butt if anything went wrong. Good thing moved all my valuable names out to Fabulous. Now just keep junkers there. Most domainers have left this sinking ship.

You all realize that KeySystems is a registrar/reseller/registry solutions provider. And that many of the new GTLD will be run by KS? So they are in the game. They have been since the proposal days. Like in the gold rush days – picks and shovels makes money (ie running the regiSTRY systems for the GTLD prospector registries).
Further – KeySystems has way more functionality and APIs than Moniker ever dreamed of. If you’re not a techie domainer – you don’t know about it. I would be happy to see all Moniker registrations get transfered into Key Systems house registry, and then we all will gain from better technology and real customer service. I’ve been a customer for years – they rock. It was a great secret in this industry. Oh well – hope they don’t lose their mojo.
