Company wants trademark related to domain consulting and brokerage service.
Domain name brokerage Media Options has filed a trademark application for ABCDEFG and launched a website at ABCDEFG.com.
The company filed the application on December 12 citing a first use date of November 20, 2018. The application states services of “Domain Name Brokerage and Consulting; Branding and Naming Consultancy and Agency.”
There is a basic website on ABCDEFG.com that states “Every business starts with a name. Abcdefg is a naming agency and brand consultant that helps startups and organisations to name their businesses or products.”
It appears that Media Options acquired the domain name this year, but figuring out the date is not possible because of GDPR-blocked Whois records.

I’m not sure it’ll survive long. Every occurance of the abcdefg string within the web page reminds me of the text Lorem Ipsu, as if he bought a cheap template and forgot to customise the dummy text before publishing. Anyway he’s got some press out of it.

Should of kept Zoom.com

I actually mistakenly thought this was a DomainGang article 🙂

Trash trademark, and domain.
Todd says
One of the worst brands I have ever seen.

Get rid of the AB. CDEFG.com… Now THERE’S a name.
Ravi says
Zoom . Com was a great name but it always reminds of webinar and conference service provider….and anyways they got this name now…
ABCDEFG is not at all of any standard…it is just made up (in terms of meaning or creating some importance to it) I was expecting some great generic name as an option for Andrew Rosener because of his reputation and his advocacy of these high level names…
But the name selected seems very odd and definitely needs lot of explanation every time…of course Andrew will make it happen…
Totally surprised with this move…
As for me I didn’t liked this name…
Funny story this string of letters was used as a caption for one movie in my local language in India…
The full form given is
“A Boy Can Do Everything For Girl”
Some thing to laugh…. 😉
Good luck Andrew Rosener.

How do you all not see what Andrew Rosener is doing? He’s obviously buying domains and buying trademarks on them so that he can protect himself and then aggressive try to sell them to companies. Zoom.com was purchased solely to sell to Zoom.us but he had to cover his butt before reaching out to them or they’d take it from him with a UDRP. Now he’s doing the same thing with this domain to sell it to Google, you know, the company that buys all of the a-z .com’s and all subsets of it like THIS DOMAIN. It’s clear as day…
