Tax day is last day for $795 admission.
You may be thinking more about taxes today than domain conferences, but take note that today is the last day for discounted admission to June’s Domain Roundtable conference.
I’ve gone to a lot of domain conferences over the years. One of the best with regards to meeting a diverse group of people in and tangential to the domain industry was Domain Roundtable in 2006. The conference included not just the usual domainer crowd, but also people from government, law, and policy groups. I tend to learn by discussing viewpoints with a diverse group of people, and that conference delivered.
Domain Roundtable is returning to its roots this year and is moving the conference from Seattle to Washington. What better place to discuss policy? 2009 and 2010 will be watershed years for the domain industry with regards to regulation. The trademark interests are trying to use the new top level domain process as a way to restrict legitimate generic domain ownership (such as cosmopolitan.tld). Laws that could have a profound effect on the industry are being formulated on Capitol Hill. There’s really no better place for this event to take place.
A preliminary conference schedule is already online. I highly recommend registering for this conference.
