Donuts bulks up with financial and executive talent.
New top level domain name company Donuts has appointed its first outside director and added to its executive team. The appointments point to a company looking for people experienced raising money and taking companies public.
Bruce A. Jaffe has been elected to the companies Board of Directors. Jaffe was a long time Microsoft employee, including a stint as CFO of its MSN division. He was also CFO of media company Glam Media.
Donuts also named David Rostov as its new CFO. Rostov was most recently CFO at Avalara, a tax compliance technology company. He has also held the CFO positions at InfoSpace and Drugstore.com.
Finally, Timothy Favia is the company’s new Vice President, Corporate Development. He was CEO of ad network mSnap.
Donuts is situated to acquire other new top level domain name companies over the next year or two en route to a potential IPO. These appointments are clearly designed to bolster the company’s experience raising late stage funds and building value.

I have known Bruce Jaffe for many years. He is a great addition to the Donuts Board. Bruce is a strategic deal guy with an ability to connect components in the value chain that others miss. As such, his addition to the Board of Directors suggests we can expect bold moves from Donuts. This will be interesting to watch. Congratulations to the Donuts team.
