Domain name aftermarket Sedo closed out 2005 with a bang.
The company announced it sold 1,125 domains for a total price of $2,878,279. That averages out to $2,558, but that’s misleading. Take a look at the big sales that skew that number: Recycling.com $300k, ProShop.com $100k, etc.
Sedo completed 18 six-figure sales in 2005 including their website.com at $750k and Annuity.com at $600k. The company announced that it snatched up 100,000 new members in 2005.
Hold on, think about that number for a second! 100,000 new members in one year! A lot of new members are probably new to the domain name aftermarket and got excited about articles in The Wall Street Journal and Business 2.0.
Sedo broke its previous total sales volume with 2005 transactions topping $25M. Congrats to the team at Sedo!
