DomainNameSales.com allows you to handle the sales inquiries you want and send the others to brokers.
I use DomainNameSales.com (DNS) to park most of my domain names because I like using their sales platform.
DNS’ platform allows you to handle purchase inquiries on your own for no fee or assign a broker to handle your inquiries for a commission.
For a long time I had DNS handle all my inquiries, but then I decided to broker domain sales myself. Yet sometimes I’d like a helping hand.
It turns out that DomainNameSales.com is not an all-or-nothing platform. This might be obvious to most people, and I clear ignored the banner on the inquiry page that looks like this:
But given that I’ve overlooked this for so long, here’s a quick tutorial on how to assign a purchase inquiry to another broker.
When you open an inquiry, click this button:
A box will pop up. Select the broker you want and provide comments to them.
Hit OK and you’ve assigned your lead to another broker.
Why would you decide to send a lead to a broker rather than handling it yourself?
One great example is when you receive an inquiry in a foreign language. In this case, you can assign the lead to DNS and ask them to assign it a broker that speaks the language.
You might also consider assigning a lead if it’s a lowball offer. If you’re worlds apart with the buyer, it might help to get a broker involved. Worst case scenario, they validate that the buyer won’t come up on their offer. Best case, they explain to the buyer why the domain is worth what you’re asking and handle the negotiations for you.
