NameView.com transferred to Moniker and forwards to a parked page.
A reader notified me of something peculiar the other day. NameView.com, the ICANN accredited domain registrar that Kevin Ham was (is?) involved with, now leads to a parked page.
I’ve noticed over the past year that Ham’s companies have transferred most of their domains out. The domains I’ve read about in UDRP proceedings recently have been registered at Fabulous. And as of last November, NameView had only about 5,000 .com domains left according to VeriSign’s registry report filed with ICANN.
Interestingly, while most names appear to have been transferred to Fabulous, NameView.com itself has been transferred to Moniker, where the whois record is cloaked in privacy.
And if you want to buy the domain, hop on over to Sedo.
As of today NameView is still listed on ICANN’s accredited registrar list, with a link to the parked page. The contact phone number listed on ICANN’s web site is also not in service.

I had suspected something was up last year in April with NameView. http://www.dotweekly.com/deleted-and-available-again/
I posted some stats based on the amount of domains that were being transferred out and simply being deleted etc.
Thanks for the heads up that the domain is simply parked now. Has anybody heard from Dr. Ham lately?
Whisperer says
Sounds like the people who purchased Moniker are on a buying spree. Wonder who is next?
Remember how they didn’t announce the Snapnames/Moniker purchase, seems like the same thing here.
Josh says
Wait, so Moniker is buying rars with just XXXX domains under management?
Andrew Allemann says
woah now, Moniker isn’t buying NameView. the domain is just registered there for some reason. I believe NameView was basically just Kevin’s names, but anyone with additional knowledge please comment.
Pal says
rumor-mill says Kevin and Colin split. Jamie’s article was part right. Majority of names from nameview seemed to go to fabulous and some went to moniker. nameview.com was obviously among those moved to moniker. Not sure if they’re still running the registrar. If so they’re likely in breach of some of icann’s rules by not having the main site active.
Andrew Allemann says
@ Pal – that would make sense given that my knowledge of domains going to Fabulous were from Vertical Axis UDRPs.
Offerbot says
Nameview.com is parked with Kevins parking company Hitfarm. BTW has anyone ever tried Hitfarm ? Worst parking company in existence.
Josh says
That’s what I thought guys, moniker buying them made no real sense. Apparently “Whisperer” needs to talk even lower lol
Too bad to hear they may have split, that would make more sense.
Stephen Douglas says
Let’s just all admit the domain industry, as we once “knew it”, is turned upside down, and the worms and bugs under the stump of our industry are crawling out looking for new hiding places. That’s why I don’t pay attention to “advice” from old timers, and domain conference sales come-ons.
This industry is in a complete rebuild from bottom to top. Anyone want to deny this? If you do, please make logical sense in your detailed analysis of the domain industry.
